Nightmare Inducing Zombie Teddy Bears

Undead Teds is a line of zombified teddy bears made by Phillip Blackman. They are terrifying. And ooky! All that blood and, wait—WTF? Teddy bears have teeth? I mean, a digestive tract, sure, that makes complete sense. But I did NOT know those guys had molars and stuff!

How a Teddy Bear Became an UndeadTed

According to Blackman’s account on the official UndeadTeds website, the idea started in 2009 while he and his wife, Rebecca, were discussing a teddy bear as a gift. Rebecca had a cold, and “teddy bear” came out sounding like “deady bear.” Apparently, that was all the encouragement his imagination needed.

Blackman says he began making prototypes in 2012 and that UndeadTeds went viral in January 2013. Contemporary coverage showed bears with exposed bones and gory wounds, including designs with hand-sculpted polymer-clay details. Cuddly had taken a fairly serious wrong turn.

Meet the Creepy UndeadTeds Collection

The creator’s “UndeadTeds Peek-a-Boo Zombie Teddy v2.0” video offers another entry in the collection. Even the name sounds like a terrible thing to hear from the other side of a dark bedroom.

For Adult Horror Fans

Despite the teddy-bear shape, these are adult collectibles. Blackman’s FAQ says they are unsuitable for children, contain small parts that could pose a choking hazard, and should not be handled roughly. Keep the cuddling expectations low.

The official website is the place to check releases and ordering information. Don’t treat an old Etsy mention or an archived price as a current offer.

Why These Zombie Teddy Bears Are Nightmare Fuel

With a teddy bear like this, you’d have to sleep with one eye open. Me? I already sleep with both eyes open and all the lights on because I gotta keep tabs on my vast baby doll collection. Those girls get all kinds of crazy murderous at night! One time an American Girl Doll tried to stab me with a nail file. It was soooo cute. But I also had to go to the hospital.
