Horse racing is one of the most popular sports in the United Kingdom and Ireland. The sport is incredibly widespread, with bettors following the numerous festivals. The UK is home to some of the most popular horse racing events the world over, like Cheltenham, Ascot, etc.

The Most Popular Horse Racing Festivals in the UK

As we said, the UK is home to the most popular horse racing festivals in the world. Among them, the Royal Ascot is one you’ve most likely heard of. The week-long event happens every year. It not only encompasses horse racing, but also there is a cocktail party, a pageant, and a ton of fun to be had.

If not the Royal Ascot, then Cheltenham is certainly the one you’ve heard of. Unlike the Ascot, Cheltenham is purely focused on the horses. Every year, the three-day event brings some of the best horses in the world together to compete. And every year, betting sites come up with different promotions. Whether it be popular non-runner, no-bet promotions [valid where legal], free bet offers, or whatever else, horse racing fans are certain to find it during the Cheltenham Festival.

Back in the 20th century, horse racing quickly rose to prominence in the USA. And though it has veined since the mid-90s, the sport still remains rather popular today. In fact, it has recently begun to get public attention once again. In large part, this is thanks to successful, hard-working horses, like Beverly Park.

Who is Beverly Park?

Beverly Park is a 5-year-old horse, sired in California, and bred in Kentucky. The bay gelding is one of the hardest-working horses active today, not just in the United States, but in the world in general. Just recently, on December 12, 2022, Beverly Park ran his 29th start, meaning he has raced more than any other horse this year.

The most impressive part here isn’t that Beverly Park was in his 29th start of the year. But rather, that he won the race. The Mahoning Valley race took place on December 12. The 6F race takes place on a dirt track. Beverly Hill won the race, leaving Flat Fun and the Professional (2nd and 3rd place) in the dust.

And this wasn’t the only race that Beverly Park won this season. He also won a race on the same track earlier in November. And earlier in the year, the bay gelding won races at Charles Town, Churchill Downs, Oaklawn Park, and quite a few other notable tracks. Overall, he has won 14 out of the 29 races that he has competed in this year.

What is even more impressive is the knowledge that the December 12 race might not be Beverly Park’s last race of the season. The horse still might compete on a few other tracks. So, we are eagerly waiting to see where Beverly Park’s career will take him in 2023.

Beverly Park’s Latest Race

Let’s take a look into Beverly Park’s latest race a bit more. It took place on December 12, 2022, and was his 29th start this year. We already addressed this, but it is worth repeating that our 5-year-old bay gelding is currently one of the stars of horse racing in America. He has raced more than any other horse, and also won more races than any other horse this year (29 starts and 14 wins). The Dec 12 race was his latest win.

Beverly Park got an excellent start. Though Flat Fun soon caught up to him, our horse managed to keep the distance, eventually winning the race by what is called a diminishing neck. Audiences were just as excited for this race as some get for top-breed mechanical horses and moto racing events.

Beverly Park’s trainer, Lynn Cash praised the horse’s performance in the latest race. He did scold the jockey for getting a bit full of himself in the final stretch. However, Beverly Park managed to win either way. So, as they say, no-harm, no-foul.

Conclusion

It is in large part thanks to fabulous horses like Beverly Park that the sport is picking up steam in the United States. And with horse racing organizers taking an interest in ensuring the horses’ safety and security, the sport might regain its former glory in the USA.
