Euro 2020
Despite now taking place in 2021, this summer’s European soccer championships are forging ahead with what the suits at UEFA insist is Euro 2020.
No matter what it is called, this tournament promises to be an absolute belter, as young guns like Kylian Mbappé and Ansu Fati look to steal the limelight from established stars such as Cristiano Ronaldo. Will CR7’s Portuguese be able to stun the bookies and the sporting world once more by defending their title or will a team like Belgium or England finally deliver on their promise.
Fury vs. Joshua?
Depending on how long the negotiations drag out, this potential super fight could take place this summer or a little later down the line, but either way it is one of the most highly anticipated events of the year. Can Fury cap his incredible comeback from the depths of despair, or will AJ write his name into the history books as an Olympic gold medallist who then became the unified and undisputed heavyweight champion of the world?
One thing that is for sure is when the leather starts flying all eyes will be on these two warriors, whether the fight takes place in the UK or further afield.
Wimbledon
Nothing says summer quite like the straw hats, punnets of strawberries and lashings of cream that make Wimbledon an iconic event. During the first two weeks of July the great and the good of the tennis world will descend on the leafy outskirts of London to do battle on the All England Lawn Tennis Club’s pristine grass courts.
The current champions are Novak Djokovic and Simona Halep. Few would bet against the Serb taking a step closer to Federer and Nadal at the top of the all-time Grand Slam charts, whereas the women’s title really is there for the taking.
What is for sure is that the world will be tuning in as soon as the opening serve of this tournament is sent down.
