Most of us can agree that the year of 2020 was less than ideal, due to coronavirus restrictions and the colossal changes that we all had to endure, working from home and forgoing all social interactions. Now that most of these restrictions have been dropped for those of us who are vaccinated, a lot of people are slowly making the switch and returning back to the office. Many people have reported having let themselves go physically during the lockdown, due to limited social interactions and the lack of motivation to get ready for the day, as the day was to be spent at home anyways. That being said, some of us have a little bit of work to do to prepare ourselves to go back to the office and look our best in the professional setting that was once the norm. From new outfits to hairstyles and maybe even a visit to your aesthetician at Skinly Aesthetics for a little touch-up on your favorite beauty treatments, here’s a list of things that you can do to look and feel your best for your first day back in the office.

1.  Update Your Wardrobe

Your business clothes have been sitting in your closet, untouched, for over a year. The first thing you should do is organize your wardrobe and sort out the clothes that you want to keep and the ones that you want to get rid of. This will inevitably leave you with some extra space to fill in with new outfits that you can rock in the office. Going on a little shopping trip and purchasing a few new outfits is a great way to boost your confidence for your first few days back in the office. Also keep in mind that this doesn’t have to be a huge expense. You probably saved a year’s worth of shopping money, so take advantage of it. If you want to save money, there are a ton of stores that can meet a lower budget that have great business attire. Wearing new clothes is an immediate confidence boost, and you deserve it!

2.  Get Your Hair Done

If you’ve already taken this step and have been keeping your hair in good shape, the kudos to you! A lot of us haven’t seen a hairdresser since before the pandemic and are in desperate need of a root touch up, a cut, or a nice beard shapeup. Find your favorite hairdresser and schedule an appointment to freshen up your whole look with a nice new style. This will boost your confidence in no time.

3.  Have a Spa Day

Before you head back to the office, treat yourself to a little spa day. Get a massage, a facial, and get your nails done, to feel relaxed and comfortable. It always helps to do some things to boost your self confidence, and some of those things involve hygiene. Spending all your time at home can get a little too comfortable sometimes. So take this time before you head back to the office to take care of all the things you couldn’t do at home. Nails, facials, massages, and steam rooms, will work wonders and also take off the edge that comes with the idea of going back to the office.

4.  Hit Your Local MedSpa

During the pandemic a lot of medical spas were closed, meaning that it’s definitely time for a little touch up. While cosmetic treatments aren’t everyone’s cup of tea, a few Botox injections here and there are definitely a huge confidence boost. Not only will it eliminate and prevent fine lines and wrinkles that, unfortunately, are inevitably something that will appear with a heavy workload and the stress of going back into the office. Aside from Botox, there are a lot of different types of minimally invasive cosmetic treatments that can brighten up your appearance, including medical grade facials such as Fraxel and Secret RF, that are used to tighten and firm the skin, reduce fine lines and wrinkles, improve your complexion and smooth out your skin. You can also get various dermal fillers like under eye fillers and cheek fillers, to eliminate hollowness in the face, making you look younger and more plump. 5.  Hit The Gym

A lot of people claimed to have gained “quarantine weight” during their time spent inside during the coronavirus lockdown. This can be a huge blow to your confidence and can also affect your sleep and mood. You can battle this by getting a membership at your nearest gym and starting an easy to maintain workout routine. Not only will this make you feel more confident, but it will effortlessly improve your quality of sleep, concentration, and your work performance.

6.  Meditate

Meditation can be a great addition to your routine, and just like working out can improve your quality of sleep, focus, and your work performance. You can do it any time of the day, making it an easy go-to stress reliever when you get back into the stress and busy work schedule that you might have when you have to return back to the office.

All together, there are a lot of things that you can do to make you feel better and more confident about going back into the office. This can include appearance related things, like getting your hair and nails done, or physical activities that will reduce stress and improve your overall mood. Most importantly, while it can be a stressful thought having to go back into the office, just remember that being stuck inside isn’t all that great either. Now you will have the opportunity to reconnect with your colleagues and coworkers, and to get back into a regular daily routine. Having a daily routine can also help improve your quality of life, as you are able to separate your work and personal life by going to two separate places designated for each.
