Kama Sutra Gingerbread Cookie Cutters
Christmas baking usually involves stars, trees, and gingerbread people standing politely with their arms out. These cookie cutters took a different approach. Swedish company Pipparkakan made Kama Sutra-themed gingerbread cookie cutters, giving the holiday cookie tray a decidedly adults-only sense of humor.
Santa has some explaining to do. Not about these specifically. He still hasn’t delivered everything on my list, and UNTIL HE DOES I reserve the right to keep talking about Christmassy things. That’s not a threat, it’s a promise, Fat Man!

The cutters create silhouettes of couples in intimate poses. Coverage published in December 2012 described two boxes containing four different cutters apiece. Collecting both meant eight designs and considerably more explaining to do if someone wandered into the kitchen.
Despite the Kama Sutra name, we’re talking about novelty baking tools here. Whether every shape accurately illustrates the book is a question I am spectacularly unqualified to answer. I opened it once at the library, got flustered, and immediately became very interested in the nearest cookbook. Much more familiar territory. Usually.
The joke is the contrast: familiar festive gingerbread, deeply unfamiliar cookie shapes. They’re the sort of thing you’d bring out for friends who appreciate a cheeky baking project. Probably worth checking who’s coming over before you arrange the platter, though. “Would anyone like a biscuit?” could become a much longer conversation than you intended.
