Jeans with See-Through iPhone Pocket

In a move that proves our tech obsession has overcome any desire to be fashionable, here are jeans equipped with a see-through pocket so you can use your iPhone while it’s still in your pants. Yes, because God forbid you take the damn thing out.

Meet the DELTA415 Wearcom Jeans

They’re the DELTA415 Wearcom jeans from Alphyn Industries, covered by gadget sites in June 2012. The trick was a transparent phone pouch beneath a zippered denim flap. Open the flap, and the screen was accessible through the clear material. Close it, and the phone was covered again.

How the See-Through Pocket Worked

Contemporary coverage described a polymer window designed to let the wearer operate a touchscreen without removing the handset. A small opening also allowed a headphone cable to pass through. Remember wired earbuds? These jeans had a plan for those, too.

The pocket was reported to accommodate devices up to 3 inches wide by 5 inches tall. That’s a historical specification, so don’t assume a current phone—or its case—will fit. The jeans themselves had a straight-leg cut and indigo-dyed denim.

Convenience Has Entered the Chat

I bet the kinda person who would wear these atrocities is the same type of person who goes out to the bar with friends, yet spends the entire time on their iPhone Twitting, Facebookering, or whatever kids do these days instead of socializing like human beings.

I get the convenience aspect, I do. I’m ALL for convenience. I don’t wear a fanny pack ’cause it looks good! I wear it because it holds all my shit AND keeps my pants up. But a see-through pocket in your pants for your phone? That’s just silly.

How Much Did the DELTA415 Jeans Cost?

The original post listed the jeans at $160, a price also reported in 2012 coverage. Its original shopping links were BUY and BUY ON AMAZON?; neither establishes current availability or a matching product today.
