Everyone experiences stress at some point in their life. It’s one of  the most common feelings amongst people from all walks of life. If you’re under a lot of stress right now then just know you’re not alone. Stressful periods are likely to happen here and there.

Here are some stress busting tips that are known to help reduce this overwhelming and emotional feeling.

Prioritise ‘Me Time’

Taking the time out of the day for yourself is so important when it comes to stress management. Focusing on yourself by doing something you love is the key to stress relief.

Taking a relaxing bath is one of the best ways to unwind and relax at the end of a hard day. Soaking in a warm bath has many benefits to your wellbeing. Enhance your bath by including some additional elements such as: candles, a book, and bath salts

The soft glow of candlelight can help with the ambience of the room, allowing for a relaxing atmosphere. Whereas bath salts are known to relax and soothe an overworked mind. This combination is the perfect solution to a stressful day.

Daily Exercise

It’s no secret that exercise is an effective stress busting method. Daily exercise helps reduce stress hormones like cortisol and adrenaline, meaning you’re more likely to experience relief from stress day to day.

Another benefit exercise has on the body is the release of endorphins. These feel-good hormones can lift your mood and in turn, reduce stress. ‘Runner’s high’, a feeling of elation after exercise, is a great example of how incorporating a bit of daily exercise can bust stress.

Talk to friends and family

As the saying goes: a problem shared is a problem halved. Phoning a family member or meeting up with a friend is a great way to reduce stress. Simply having a conversation with someone you love can help put your mind at ease.

Bottling up your thoughts and feelings can be a burden, sharing how you feel can relieve the stress building up.

Cut negative habits

Nicotine and alcohol may be a temporary solution when you’re in a stressful period, but it’s known to make it worse. Cutting out these bad habits when you’re stressed can prevent more problems from occurring.

When you turn to alcohol and nicotine to relieve stress, you’re creating a new problem for yourself. Something that you definitely don’t need.

Instead, turn to healthy coping methods like exercise and self care.
