Photographer Candice Benjamin documented Meredith and Joshua’s Harry Potter-themed wedding, and these two were clearly committed to the assignment. A few magical touches? Please. They brought Hogwarts into the celebration, right down to a Snape lookalike officiating the ceremony.

Yes, Professor Snape. Or, more accurately, someone dressed as him. Which is probably preferable to having the actual Potions professor assess your vows. Getting married is stressful enough without worrying that your delivery just cost Gryffindor ten points.
Hogwarts Details Beyond the Ceremony
The theme carried through to Hogwarts house tables and a guestbook inspired by the Monster Book of Monsters, details highlighted in Offbeat Wed’s retrospective. An ordinary guestbook suddenly seems a little underqualified. Does yours have teeth? No? NEXT.
Even the catering staff got involved. The Mary Sue’s 2014 coverage noted their S.P.E.W. badges, a reference to Hermione’s Society for the Promotion of Elfish Welfare. That’s a fairly deep cut for the people serving dinner. Respect.
A Magical Wedding for True Harry Potter Fans
Clearly, Meredith and Joshua were super committed people. Committed to the theme, yes, but let’s assume committed to one another as well. They did get married, after all! And who would get married only for the sake of having the big Harry Potter-themed shindig they’d always dreamed of? That would be sick! something I would do.
