Street Clocks

When we first heard about Street Clocks, we thought they were clocks featuring maps of major cities like New York or Tokyo. And honestly, that sounded pretty neat. But when we learned that you could actually get a clock showing the streets of your own hometown, we got REALLY excited. Who knew looking at a map could be such a good way to tell time?

How Street Clocks Worked

Created by Fluid Forms, Street Clocks took ordinary street maps and turned them into personalized wall clocks. The original design tool let you enter a ZIP code and choose the location you wanted on the clock face. You could zoom all the way in to your own street or pull back to show a larger section of town. Suddenly, that everyday route to work or your favorite neighborhood became a piece of home decor.

Street Clocks Were Customizable

And the customization didn’t end with the map. Street Clocks were offered in several colors, including orange, green, blue, red, and white, so you could pick something that worked with your space. A clock featuring your childhood neighborhood? Cute. One showing where you met someone special? Even cuter. One showing the street where you always get lost? Well, at least now you can admire it from a safe distance.

About Fluid Forms and the Design Concept

Fluid Forms was an Austrian design company known for turning geographic information into personalized objects. Its work extended beyond clocks to other location-inspired designs, using digital mapping tools to make everyday objects feel a little more personal. Street Clocks were a clever example of that idea: take an ordinary wall clock and give it a connection to somewhere that actually matters to you.
