Burger Bedding Makes Midnight Snacking Easy

Some people dream about cheeseburgers. Davidelfín of Madrid took that idea a little too literally and made a bed look like one. The label’s Burger Duvet Cover paired a printed hamburger design with sesame-seed bun pillows, turning an ordinary place to sleep into a giant, delicious-looking sandwich. Unfortunately, it’s a burger you can’t actually eat. Which, in my opinion, is pretty cruel. What’s the point of sleeping inside a cheeseburger if you can’t wake up and take a bite?

The unusual bedding attracted attention in 2012, with a $117 price in the original listing. That’s a historical price, not a checkout total you can count on today. Still, it’s a pretty memorable way to decorate a bedroom. Forget matching throw blankets and tasteful neutral colors. This bed announces to everyone who enters the room that you have priorities, and those priorities involve lunch.

A Giant Cheeseburger You Can Sleep Under

The fun is in how the pieces work together. A duvet carries the burger artwork across the bed, while the pillows bring in the familiar sesame-seed bun detail. Seen together, they make the mattress look like it belongs on an enormous fast-food menu. The illusion is especially funny because a bed and a burger already have something in common: they’re both made of layers, and both are a whole lot more appealing when you’re tired. Only one of them is supposed to be eaten, though. Please remember that part.

There’s no claim that the bedding contains real lettuce, cheese, or anything else you’d find between two buns. It’s printed fabric doing the heavy lifting, not a kitchen full of ingredients. That also means you don’t have to worry about waking up with mustard in your hair or losing a pickle somewhere under the comforter. You get the visual joke without turning your sheets into a health-code violation. Honestly, that might be the one advantage this fake burger has over the edible bed of my dreams.

The Cruelest Midnight Snack Ever

Imagine crawling into bed after a long day and finding yourself surrounded by an oversized burger. Your brain says dinner; your stomach starts negotiating; your common sense points out that you’re looking at a duvet cover. It’s an excellent setup for a midnight snack craving and a terrible solution to one. The pillows are there to support your head, not to serve as an emergency bread supply. And if you start dipping them in ketchup, somebody should probably have a quiet word with you.

The design also has the right kind of absurdity for anyone who likes a bedroom with a sense of humor. It isn’t trying to pass as elegant hotel bedding. It’s a burger. A giant burger. That’s the entire joke, and I’m completely on board. Give me an edible version and I’d be even happier, although it probably wouldn’t last until morning. Know what I’m saying? I’m saying I’d die happy. And covered in ketchup. Until then, I suppose this gloriously uneatable sandwich will have to do.
