It must suck to pour your heart and soul into designing and sculpting a statue, just to have city dwellers walk by it day after day without noticing it. Jeff Greenspan decided to draw some attention to a lonely statue along the High Line in NYC by placing a donation jar in front of it. People passing by assumed they were looking at a street performer with a really convincing costume and crowded around the statue, posed for photos with it, and even put money in the jar. Suckers. Don’t worry though, Jeff didn’t keep the cash—he passed it on to a real street performer.

Very cool! And the fact that he gave the money to a real busker – I love it!
