Okay, so maybe kitties aren’t the center of the universe, but they’re definitely what keeps the internet chugging along. So, basically, same difference, right? The Solar System Cat Hat takes that idea and puts it directly on a cat’s head. Finally, an accessory that respects the household hierarchy.
Meet the Solar System Cat Hat
The hat appeared in 2013 coverage of Etsy seller NotsoKittyShop, associated with maker Wendy Casazza Scruton. The original post described nine Styrofoam balls attached by wire to a felt-covered Styrofoam base, with an elastic band intended to hold the whole arrangement in place.
A Mini Solar System With Pluto Included
Nine objects? That’s right—INCLUDING PLUTO. For the astronomy department: our solar system has eight planets, and Pluto is classified as a dwarf planet. For the cat department: everyone can stay, provided they remember who’s in charge.
The joke is the miniature solar system arranged around your kitty, making the cat the center of its own little cosmic display. It’s less a scale model of space and more an extremely specific expression of feline importance.

Well, it’s supposed to fasten onto your kitty’s head. But if your cat is anything like mine, the result is a lot more… gruesome. And violent. I’m shivering just thinking about it! Apparently, the center of the universe would prefer that we stop touching its ears.
