Youtuber precarious333 posted this video of his adult male Neobarrettia spinosa aka Giant Texas Katydid. It shows the little guy chirping, cleaning, and breathing close-up. Personally, I had never seen an insect breathe before so it was a super educational experience for me. Super educational annnnd gave me the creepy crawlies in a bad way. Learning shouldn’t be ooky!

Insects don’t breathe like we do. They don’t have lungs. They breathe through their skin so any breathing like movement this insect is making is probably something else.
