Like any bustling city, there are so many things to do in Brisbane. No one wants to visit a city only to get home and discover that they missed a must-see attraction. Plan your Brisbane trip ahead of time to be sure you make it to all the attractions you want to visit.

1.      Climb the Brisbane Story Bridge

Sydney isn’t the only city with a bridge climb. Brisbane’s iconic Story Bridge is open to climbing and it’s an overwhelming experience, one of the most exciting things to do in Brisbane. The bridge is open to climbing throughout the day, but if you climb it at twilight, the views of the city all lit up at night, are spectacular. Throughout the climb, your climb leader will offer historical commentary and at the end, you’ll get a photo of your whole group.

2.      Cruise Along the River

The city of Brisbane is bisected by a large river, and from the waters, you’ll experience gorgeous views. Join a cruise and sail up and down the Brisbane River. Many cruises offer a full lunch on board, so a cruise can be a great way to spend the day and relax. Both the north bank and the south bank boast eye-catching views, and you can see it all from the water.

3.      Sherwood Arboretum

Not all the best things to do in Brisbane are about the city itself, sometimes the best things are escaping from the city for a while. The heritage-listed Sherwood Arboretum lets you escape into nature. You’ll find towering trees, eye-catching flowers, and more. Take a picnic and spend some time unplugged from it all.

4.      Wheel of Brisbane

London has the London Eye, and Brisbane has the Wheel of Brisbane. Right on the south bank of the city, the large Ferris wheel is open from 10am to 10pm on weekdays and until 11pm on Friday and Saturday so you can time your trip on the views you want to see. Want to see the city in the daytime or lit up at night? Hop into a gondola with a partner for a romantic moment (even enjoy a picnic while you’re in there) or go in alone or with friends or family.

5.      Tour of the City

There’s so much of Brisbane to see and do. The only way to see it all is to get out there and see it for yourself. Head out on foot or hire one of the many bikes or Segways available to see the city faster. Discover hidden gem cafes, restaurants, bars, and more.
