Everyone’s taken a selfie, even the Pope! But who originated the selfie? Like you, I always assumed Kim Kardashian. Boy was I wrong! This is allegedly the world’s first selfie. It was taken in October 1839 by photographer Robert Cornelius. The Daguerreotype process of photography required anywhere between 3 and 15 minutes of exposure meaning Robert had to stand still for the duration. LOLWUT? I can barely sit still long enough to take a decent selfie! Most of mine are just a blur of colors. A blur of colors making duck face.
