Cirkuita is just the fancy name given to old technological junk that has been turned into jewelry. Designed and created by by Paola Mirai, these otherwise useless pieces come alive again thanks to her handicraft efforts. The Milan-based designer goes inside the various electronics and places them in Orotrasparente (a new and lightweight advanced material that she developed) to form one of a kind accessories. Pulled from old keyboards, circuit thing-a-majigs, and other items I’m too young to recognize, her work definitely presents several unique examples of repurposing.
