The Lucihormetic luckae is a super rare cockroach that can produce light using bioluminescence. That’s fancy-talk for something real sciencey! Jk jk, the insect’s exoskeleton contains glowy bacteria-filled reservoirs. These two resevoirs make it appear like the bugs are equipped with a set of headlights! Oh yes — because the sounds of them skuttering around at night isn’t enough, they have to have HEADLIGHTS to illuminate the room. You know, just to remind me that they’re there. Otherwise, I might be able to forget that I live in a bug infested apartment and actually be able to, I dunno, SLEEP.
