Heelys, the creators behind the popular shoes that roll, have introduced a product so revolutionary it needed a new sport to define it! The Nano™ inline footboard combines the high speed of a skateboard with the stealth and maneuverability of Heelys wheeled footwear to create a new hybrid skate system called “freeboarding” that has streamlined the world of wheels. Nano™, available now, thrills the user with the same sensations and freedoms felt while slalom skiing and wakeboarding, providing an out-of-this-world ride.

The Nano is compatible with ALL sizes of any Fats and Mega style Heelys skate shoes and works by simply removing the wheel from one of the shoes and snapping the patented wheel bracket into the Sole-Link™, like a ski or snowboard binding. Nano’s innovative design provides a stable platform for your front foot, allowing your rear foot free to build momentum, carve sharp turns, and perform a wide variety of tricks.

Nano™ was designed specifically with freeform movement in mind. During product testing, athletes pushed Nano™ to the extreme and found that it changed the way they felt about other sports, like skateboarding and inline skating. The Nano™ provides such a far-out range of motion that Heelys has coined a new sport to define it: ‘freeboarding’.

“Binding a single foot to the board allows for greater freedom to jump, grind, tumble and vault over different landscapes, similar to free running. Because of the hybrid way of skating and flexibility of tricks, we have started calling the sport ‘freeboarding’”, says Heelys CEO, Tom Hansen.

Available now in Heelys’ online store and select retailers for $79.95, the Nano is made with Eastman Tritan™ copolyester, which is lightweight, rugged and BPA free. It measures approximately 15 inches long and 7 inches wide, and is small enough to fit easily in a backpack or in a school locker. The premier edition will sport a red translucent top and solid black bottom, lenticular graphic insert, and two-graphic wheels.
