Has it ever occurred to you how much electricity is required to run a ferris wheel? Personally, the only thing that’s ever occurred to me while on a ferris wheel was how far away the ground was. But it did occur to the creative people of the Miss Rockaway Armada art collective (who are obviously much less afraid of heights than I am). They created a bicycle powered ferris wheel that runs on kinetic energy. Three people can ride it at time, and they must pedal to make it turn. This DIY carnival ride may not be anywhere near as tall as a typical ferris wheel, but it does seem to go a lot faster.
