Internal organs aren’t generally thought of as cute or decorative—with the exception of hearts, but that barely counts because they’re not anatomical. French artist Lou Giesen creates jewelry featuring less popular vital organs, including a gold lung necklace, an intestine scarf thingy and a kidney shaped neck-piece. Giesen illustrates the contradiction between vital organs and superficial jewels through her work. Her designs prove that the heart isn’t the only organ capable of being emotional and junk. In fact, from now on I’m only sending Valentine’s cards with cute drawings of lungs that say “U leave me breathless.” Or maybe little kidneys holding hands that say “you help me regulate my blood pressure.” Awwww.
