Packing tape seemed so uninteresting before Mark Khaisman shed some light on it for us. Using layers of brown tape over backlit plexiglass, he creates lights and darks which result in incredible sepia toned portraits and scenes. The style appears blocky yet loose, while managing to capture a great amount of detail, making his tapeworks portraits look realistic and his recreations of classic movies unmistakable. Mark Khaisman, from the Ukraine, studied Art and Architecture at the Moscow Architectural Institute and now lives and works in Philadelphia.
