Photographer Endia Beal questions our expectations regarding race and hairstyles with her photoseries called “Can I Touch It?” While it might not be all that unusual to see a young white girl emulating a typically “black” hairstyle, you generally don’t expect to see one on middle aged white woman in a corporate setting. Beal was inspired by her own experience working in an office and the reactions she got from coworkers about her hair. Personally I think all of these women look really good with these hairstyles and I have to admit that yes, I want to touch their hair.
