Taiwanese artist Shu-Chun Hsiao created these IRL Google Maps icons and stuck them around random locations. Not only are they cool pieces of street art, they double as birdhouses. Hsiao explains that birds have the closest thing to a real Google Maps experience because they can fly over and area, swoop down (or zoom in), and arrive at their destination. I don’t know about all that, but I do know that the next time I go out to get pancakes after getting really stoned and see one of these Google Maps icons I’m gonna be super freaked out and start yelling, “I can’t tell what’s real and what’s not any more!”
