Unless this is the first time you’ve been online since you were convicted for hacking a decade ago (how did you find us? Metaspider?) then you’ve probably come across the satirical post “If Historical Events Had Facebook Statuses.” What started a hilarious series of posts by Cool Material writer Wylie Overstreet has been since turned into an even more hilarious book. The History of the World According to Facebook delivers more of the same jokes that made the original articles so popular, with status updates from the dawn of the time to the dawn of social media. Kind of reminds of that famous quote by Abraham Lincoln, “”The trouble with quotes on the internet is that it’s difficult to discern whether or not they are genuine.”
