Sometimes, a good video game can really get into your head. For example, when Gears of War first came out, I saw places to take cover all around me in every day life. Compositor Andreas Heikaus apparently had a similar experience with Super Mario Bros, and he figured out how to capture it on film. By filming an ordinary sidewalk, and using CG compositing methods to impose Super Mario Bros gameplay onto that sidewalk, Heikaus created a truly unique and impressive video. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I have to go figure out where the controller plugs into the sidewalk.
