NASA Funding 3D Printed Pizza

NASA Funding 3D Printed Pizza

In news that will bring joy to all who hear, 3D printing pizza may soon become a reality and not just a magical fantasy that lives in my head. Dreams really do come true! NASA is funding a project headed by the Systems and Materials Research Corporation to develop a 3D food printer. It’s intended to improve the food sitch for space travelers, but they’re hoping in the future it can also help end worldwide hunger. Man, I love food technology. And they’re really doing this right, because pizza is first up on the to-do list. As it should be. It’s the best food there is! Now I know what you’re thinking and I agree — if I love pizza so much, why don’t I marry it? Well, I’ve just been waiting for the right time to pop the question. I guess there’s no time like the present, so here goes: Pizza, I love you. I can’t imagine my life without you. Although, I’d probably be a lot skinnier. But not as happy. Will you marry me? Just so we’re clear, if you say no then I’m going to starve to death. Please consider that before you answer.

This is terrible news for family farmers. Stop doing things like this!

    DONUTS!

How would this end world hunger? They would still need the ingredients to print. That’s like saying “installing a printer in your office would eliminate the lack of ink crisis”. It doesn’t just materialize out of thin air. It’s not a teleporter from Star Trek. You better think that one through. *smh*

Because family farms make and sell pizza? This wouldn’t affect the need for produce, as jwarddesign points out above, there would still be the same demand for the basic ingredients used to print the pizza or whatever food is being printed.
