Before we get a dozen comments saying, “Oh man, this is like 400 years old” I’ll have you know, it’s new to me. So there. What are long distance couples to do when they lay their lonely heads to sleep? They could hop on FaceTime and drain the life out of their iPhones while pretending to sleep next to one another. Or, they could strap PillowTalk bands around their chests and cuddle glowing pillows that beat with the sounds of each other’s hearts. Sensors built into elastic bands record the wearer’s heartbeat and sends it wirelessly to the partner’s pillow in real time. Sound crazy? It is, but it could become a reality. After being featured on Gizmodo last year, the project went viral and has since secured initial funding to develop an industrial prototype of the product. Still confused? Check out the video below.
