Any artist can draw a self-portrait to insert themselves into their artwork, but Belgian-based artist Ben Heine takes a different approach. He draws life-sized backgrounds and poses with them, making it look like he’s part of the drawing. (Actually on second thought, self-portraits are kinda hard—maybe this is just an elaborate trick to avoid drawing himself.) Heine creates his work so that when photographed from the perfect angle, it looks as though he’s interacting with it in 3D. That means there’s no Photoshop… which means every one of you who thought, “Oh I could do that. It’s just ‘shopped.” is a chump.
